What seems like a lifetime ago, I was involved in the Geography Collective and we wrote a book called Mission:Explore. This is now a website as well as a cook book and other stuff. The idea is simple: getting young people outside exploring and learning about the world. Although Geography, there are plenty of other subjects that benefit.
We used these at Secondary and I know that Primary schools have loved using them too. I'm not sure if you can get the books anymore, but we created whole mini-schemes of work based around missions such as this one:

And a few well known Twitter folk got in to trouble at the Manchester Hilton during a Microsoft Forum doing this one (I may have encouraged)
